ANNIE RAAB writes fiction, essays, and art criticism. Her work has been published in print and online, most frequently in Kansas City’s alternative paper, The Pitch, where she was a regular contributor of arts journalism and reviews (2015-2018). She earned her BFA in Sculpture and Creative Writing at the Kansas City Art Institute, and is an MFA candidate in Fiction at Virginia Tech. She works with students at Virginia Tech and The School of the New York Times, supporting their writing and academic ambitions with an inclusive pedagogy and multimodal approach to education. Her art reviews, short fiction, criticism, and interviews have been published online and in print. She is half of GIRL NOIR.
When she’s not writing or teaching, Annie can be found in her garden, getting frustrated at her lack of gardening skills, or on her bicycle, on which she feels more confident.
